CHEMICALS

Picture
To get the most from your Hot Tub it is vital that it be maintained correctly by using the correct dosage & quality of chemicals & keeping filters clean. Please note that the Fi-Clor range of chemicals which we sell are of a far higher quality that those cheaper chemicals available 'on-line' which can work out more expensive in the long run as more cheaper chemicals are required to the the same  job as a lesser amount of quality chemicals!
By following the maintenance guide below you will have an enjoyable and safe bathing experience.

Every other day
Dip test for bromine & pH levels. If bromine level is too high adjust the dispenser as necessary. If pH level is too high, add dry acid & dip test again. If pH level is too low add soda ash & dip test again. If levels are still not  correct add more soda ash or dry acid as necessary until the correct reading is obtained.

Every week
Remove filter(s) & hose off with a hose gun ensuring debris is removed from between the pleats.
Check bromine tablets & top-up if required.

Every 2 weeks
Add 1 cap of non-chlorine shock & 1 cap of shock.

Every 8-12 weeks
A water change is necessary. Add 2 caps of shock one hour before emptying & run the pumps.
When re-filling add 2 caps of shock & 2 caps of non-chlorine shock, 3 caps of anti-scale in hard water areas.

Every 6 months
Clean filter with filter cleaner. Leave submerged for 48 hours. N.B. Filter life is a maximum of 18 months to 2 years.

Troubleshooting- Cloudy Water
Check bromine tablets, clean filter, add a sachet of water clarifier & 1 cap of non-chlorine shock.
If cloudiness is very bad it can take up to 24 hours to clear.

Troubleshooting - Foaming
High amounts of foam when pumps &/or blower are running is caused by natural oils & washing powders used & is quite normal. Just add 1-2 caps of Anti-Foam & the foam should clear instantly. Foaming can happen frequently.
